Teen Pauline, Lion D N A win Big A stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Teen Pauline and Lion D N A started the new year with victories in the $100,000 filly and mare stakes Wednesday at Aqueduct.

Teen Pauline led all the way in the Affectionately, beating Centring by 434 lengths for her third win in nine starts. Irad Ortiz, Jr. was aboard for trainer Todd Pletcher as Teen Pauline ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.64. The 4-year-old paid $8 to win.

Trainer Rudy Rodriguez got his third win of the afternoon when Lion D N A edged Fantasy of Flight by a half length in the six-furlong Interborough. Chuckie Lopez guided the 5-year-old to her seventh victory in 27 starts, paying $7.90 to win.

The time was 1:11.88.
