Crawford leads Bowling Green past Ball State 70-59

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Jordon Crawford had 19 points and eight assists off the bench to lead Bowling Green to a 70-59 victory over Ball State in a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

A’uston Calhoun had 17 points and Chauncey Orr 10 for the Falcons (8-13, 3-5), who shot 57.5 percent (30 of 52) from the field despite making only 2 of 13 from beyond the arc.

Bowling Green outscored Ball State 38-22 in the paint.

Jauwan Scaife had 17 points and Jesse Berry 13 for the Cardinals (8-12, 2-6). Ball State has lost two in a row and six of its past seven.

Bowling Green led 41-28 at the break on Crawford’s layup with 1 second remaining.

Ball State closed to 46-42 in the second half, but Calhoun scored six straight points to push the cushion 59-47 at the 8:06 mark, and the Falcons cruised to the win.
