Editor’s Note: Problems printing Saturday’s Columbian

The Columbian
Published: February 1, 2013, 4:00pm

To our readers:

Friday night, we had an electrical failure on our large primary printing press. As a result, Saturday’s Columbian was printed on our back-up press, which is smaller and has less color capacity.

As of Saturday afternoon, we think we have it fixed.

Thank you, News Editor Micah Rice and members of the copy desk and sports desk for expediting page production on short notice Friday; Cris Matta and Paul Howard of pre-press, who were instrumental in redesigning the Saturday edition and were there until the wee hours of the morning outputting plates; and Gene Forbes, Bryan Waliezer, Rick Pettit and our great press crew and production staff for the high-pressure duty in getting this resolved.
