Columbia Springs hosting volunteer event Saturday

The Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center this Saturday will invite volunteers to participate in several projects.

Participants will help with trail work and spring cleaning, plus repairs to wetland and forest education stations on the 100-acre site, according to Columbia Springs.

Volunteers younger than 16 must have parental permission; those younger than 14 must have parental supervision. Snacks and tools will be provided, but participants should bring sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, according to Columbia Springs.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Columbia Springs is at the former Vancouver Trout Hatchery, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway.
