WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — The Winnipeg Jets are sending 19-year-old forward Mark Scheifele to the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.

Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff says he still has confidence in Scheifele.

He adds that Scheifele was a top performer with his junior club and will get a chance to continue his development with the Colts.

Scheifele, who was selected by the Jets with the seventh overall pick in the 2011 draft, did not record a point in four NHL games this season.

Cheveldayoff says that the Jets are expecting defenseman Zach Bogosian to return soon after wrist surgery.
