Cartwright leads Pennsylvania past Brown 71-48

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Miles Cartwright had 28 points and seven rebounds, and Pennsylvania outscored Brown by 20 points in the second half en route to a 71-48 victory in an Ivy League game Saturday night.

Cartwright shot 5 of 6 on 3-pointers. Tony Hicks scored 15 points for the Quakers (5-17, 2-3), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Matt Sullivan scored 15, Sean McGonagill had 12 to reach 1,000 points for his career and Rafael Maia had 10 for the Bears (8-12, 2-4), who have lost three in a row and four of their past five.

Holding a 32-30 lead in the second half, Cartwright capped a 24-8 run with a 3-pointer for a 56-38 advantage with 8:26 remaining.

Penn shot 42.6 percent from the field (23 of 54) and 60 percent (9 of 15) on 3-pointers to Brown’s 29.8 percent (17 of 57) and 11.1 percent (2 of 18).
