Delaware downs George Mason 79-72

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Devon Saddler had a game-high 22 points and Jarvis Threatt got his first career double-double with 20 points and a career-high 10 boards to lead Delaware over George Mason 79-72 Saturday.

Saddler added eight boards to go along with his 30th straight game in double figures, while Josh Brinkley finished 6 of 7 with 17 points for Delaware (12-12, 7-4 Colonial Athletic Association).

George Mason (14-10, 7-5) would get as close as 35-31 on Erick Copes’ jumper with 19:28 remaining, but Delaware went on a 10-2 run, capped by Threatt’s 3-pointer and a Brinkley jumper, to lead 45-33 with 16:38 left to play.

After Marko Gujanicic’s 3-pointer cut George Mason’s deficit to 69-64 with 1:40 to go, Delaware went 6 of 6 from the foul line in the final 35 seconds to seal the victory.

Jonathan Arledge finished with a double-double, leading the Patriots with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
