MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Jauwan Scaife scored a career-high 30 points, including three 3-pointers, to help Ball State snap Western Michigan’s seven-game winning streak with a 65-62 victory Saturday evening.

Scaife, a senior, was 9 of 16 from the floor and 9 of 10 from the line, including two free throws with 7 seconds left that gave the Cardinals (9-13, 3-7 Mid-American) a three-point cushion. WMU’s David Brown then missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Marcus Posley added 15 points and Matt Kamieniecki had 10 for Ball State, which also snapped its own three-game losing streak and evened the all-time series with Western Michigan, 59-59.

Brown and Darius Paul had 13 points apiece for the Broncos (15-8, 7-3), who never led after the opening minutes but tied the game at 54 on Brown’s free throws with 4:02 left. But Scaife took over in the closing minutes to help Ball State secure the victory.
