MACON, Ga. (AP) — Bud Thomas scored 12 points, dished out six assists and Mercer played a strong second half to rout North Florida 64-44 on Saturday.

Travis Smith finished with 13 points and Daniel Coursey added 12 points for the Bears (16-9, 9-3 Atlantic Sun), who won their fourth straight game.

Mercer took a 29-26 lead into halftime. But shortly after the break, the Bears went on a 16-4 run that was capped by Jakob Gollon’s layup with 14:05 left to play.

Mercer continued to cruise from there, as the Ospreys came no closer than 11 points the rest of the way. The Bears took their largest lead at 58-38 on a fast-break dunk by Thomas, who also had four steals.

Travis Wallace and Andy Diaz each scored 10 points for North Florida (10-16, 5-8), who had its two-game winning streak snapped.
