Saddler, Delaware rally to edge Old Dominion 75-73

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Devon Saddler scored 24 points and Jarvis Threatt posted his second straight double-double to help Delaware rally then hold off Old Dominion 75-73 Monday night in Colonial Athletic Association play.

Saddler, who has scored in double figures in 30 straight games dating back to last season, was 7-of-14 shooting.

Threatt, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds Saturday, tallied 10 points and a career-high 13 boards for the Blue Hens (13-12, 8-4), who trailed the last place Monarchs by as many as nine in the second half before rallying to tie the game at 63 with 5:05 showing.

Old Dominion’s DeShawn Painter broke the tie with a 3-pointer but the Monarchs (3-22, 1-12) missed their next five shots as Delaware pulled ahead for the win.

Painter paced Old Dominion with 22 points and 12 rebounds — seven offensive — but the Monarchs made just 10 of 15 free throws.
