George Mason routs Hofstra 79-50

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Jonathan Arledge finished with 20 points, and Erik Copes added a double-double as George Mason blew out Hofstra 79-60 Wednesday night.

Arledge was 7 of 10 from the field and Copes went 3-for-5 shooting with 11 points and a game-high 10 boards to help the Patriots (16-11, 9-6 Colonial Athletic Association) outrebound Hofstra 40-33.

The Pride (6-22, 3-12) made 4 of 27 shots (14.8 percent) in the first half and trailed 32-19 at halftime.

George Mason led by as many as 32 points, when Anali Okoloji’s layup made it 70-38 with 7:12 left to play.

The Patriots shot 53.8 percent (28 of 52) for the game.

Hofstra made just 2 of 18 3-pointers, and shot only 26.8 percent (15 of 56) for the game.

Taran Buie led the Pride with 12 points, but was the only player for Hofstra in double figures. Hofstra has lost four in a row.
