Bowling Green clobbers New Orleans 87-56

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — A’uston Calhoun and Jordon Crawford scored 16 points apiece and Bowling Green led virtually throughout an 87-56 rout on New Orleans on Thursday night in a non-conference mismatch.

The Falcons of the Mid-American Conference (11-15) dominated New Orleans, which briefly led once in the first minute. After that, Bowling Green walloped the Privateers (8-15).

The Falcons led 42-25 at halftime, then scored the first eight points of the second half to go up 50-25 on a layup by Chauncey Orr.

Orr also finished in double figures for the Falcons with 12 points. Bowling Green hit 35 of 76 shots from the field (46.1 percent) while New Orleans was just 20 of 54 (37 percent). The Falcons had a huge advantage from 3-point range, hitting 9 of 20 treys while New Orleans was 2 for 6.

Cory Dixon led New Orleans with 14 points off the bench. Rarlensee Nelson added 12.
