MACON, Ga. (AP) — Anthony White Jr. scored a career-high 15 points off the bench as Mercer rode a 21-point halftime advantage to its seventh consecutive victory, an 83-58 blowout of Lipscomb Thursday night.
Mercer (19-9, 12-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) fell into a 9-3 hole early, but outscored Lipscomb 29-8 the rest of the first half, including a 15-0 run to close the period.
Travis Smith hit three 3-pointers during the 15-point run and finished with 13 points.
Deonte Alexander scored 15 points for the Bisons (10-16, 5-10), who have dropped seven straight in the series. Lipscomb shot 42.6 percent (20 of 47) but made just 2 of 11 3-point attempts.
Mercer countered with 54.9-percent shooting (28 of 51) and knocked down 11 of 24 3-pointers, including a 3-of-6 showing by White.
The win moved the Bears within a win of a second consecutive 20-win season, which would be a program first.
