Willingham fitting in fine with Twins

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Josh Willingham turned out to be an ideal fit last season with his new team, the Minnesota Twins.

After signing a three-year deal, Willingham hit a career-high 35 home runs.

Now at spring training, Willingham says joining the likes of Harmon Killebrew near the top of the Twins’ single-season home run list was “really cool” — and he’s hoping to put together two more years a lot like his first in Minnesota.

Amid last year’s 96-loss season, Willingham was a bright spot. And at age 34, it seems likely he has a few more productive seasons in that right-handed swing.
