Saint Joseph’s downs George Washington 71-59

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Langston Galloway scored a season-high 26 points to lead Saint Joseph’s to a 71-59 victory over George Washington Saturday in Atlantic 10 action.

The Hawks (15-10, 6-6) scored the game’s first 12 points, then took an early 20-2 lead. Later in the half, despite a 9-0 run by the Colonials (12-13, 6-6), the Hawks led 40-29 at halftime.

In the second half, George Washington scored five straight points to close within 59-52. But Galloway hit a 3-pointer and the Hawks led by double figures the rest of the way.

Galloway’s season-high point total came on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor. He hit 6 of 9 shots from 3-point range.

Carl Jones scored 15 points for Saint Joseph’s. C.J. Aiken added 13 and Halil Kanacevic grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Isaiah Armwood led George Washington with 14 points. Lasan Kromah added 13 and Patricio Garino had 10.
