HONOLULU (AP) — Garrett Jefferson may have only scored two points all night but his go-ahead bucket as time expired to give Hawaii a thrilling 90-88 last-second victory over Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night was well worth the wait.

After Cal State Fullerton’s D.J. Seeley made a 3-pointer to tie it at 88 with 6 seconds left, Jefferson returned the favor, sending his Warriors home with a victory on the last-second jumper.

Isaac Fotu scored 29 points on 13-of-16 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds for Hawaii (8-5, 2-0 Big West), which shot 56.3 percent from the floor and had 20 assists as a team.

Cal State Fullerton (7-6, 1-1) led by 11 with 5:28 remaining in the game after Kwame Vaughn made a 3-pointer to put the Titans up 80-69, but Hawaii ended the game on a 21-8 run.

Vaughn had 26 points, five rebounds and five assists. Seeley scored 22 points while hitting five 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds.
