Russell scores 25, NAU tops Sacramento State 57-50

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — DeWayne Russell scored a career-high 25 points to help Northern Arizona snap a three-game losing streak with a 57-50 victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night.

Russell connected on four 3-point shots and came up with five assists and four steals.

NAU (5-8, 2-1 Big Sky) also got 11 points from Gabe Rogers.

Joe Eberhard topped Sacramento State (6-5, 1-2) with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and John Dickson scored 12 points.

NAU triumphed despite shooting just 32.1 percent from the field. Sacramento State shot 34 percent.

NAU had a 22-12 scoring advantage in the paint and had a 19-4 edge off turnovers.
