Canaan, Murray State stop SE Missouri 74-66

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — Isaiah Canaan scored 28 points and Murray State rallied from a 6-point halftime deficit to defeat Southeast Missouri 74-66 on Saturday.

Murray State (11-3, 2-0 Ohio Valley) got 15 points from Ed Daniel and 14 points from Stacy Williams. Canaan and Williams each connected on three 3-pointers.

Daniel helped Murray State to a decisive 43-29 advantage on the boards with 17 rebounds.

A.J. Jones led Southeast Missouri (10-7, 2-1) with 20 points. Tyler Stone scored 16 points and Corey Wilford scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers. He also had five assists.

Murray State converted 18 of 27 free-throw attempts, while Southeast Missouri was 8 of 12.
