Letter: Prepare car during cold weather

The Columbian
Published: January 9, 2013, 4:00pm

Just a reminder to those of us who were ill-prepared for our recent cold snap, since such weather could return. When your car is parked outside during the night, several things happen: Your windows ice up, the door seal can freeze shut, and your parking brake may need some coaxing to disengage.

I came upon a young lady on 37th Street who had a windshield still completely iced over while in traffic waiting at a stop sign. Don’t forget that your windshield won’t scrape itself.
