Brush Prairie — The ROCKSOLID Community Teen Center was awarded a $10,000 grant to further its efforts to provide teens a safe place to hang out after school. The grant was awarded this month without restrictions by the Jane Onsdorff Malmquist Charitable Fund, managed by the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. “This is a wonderful way to begin 2013,” wrote ROCKSOLID Executive Director Nancy Miller in a press release. The Jane Onsdorff Malmquist Charitable Fund is named after a Battle Ground native who created the fund before her death to ensure perpetual support for community services, including the areas of arts and education. Malmquist was an elementary schoolteacher in Battle Ground before retiring in 1987.
