Icy roads causes several accidents around Vancouver

Icy roads and freezing fog are causing crashes around Clark County.

Authorities say that there have been several spinouts and fender benders in the Hazel Dell and Vancouver area, slowing traffic and sending a few people to area hospitals.

Interstate 5 southbound remains stop-and-go from Hazel Dell into Portland, with traffic also backed up on westbound Highway 500.

Washington State Department of Transportation officials advise motorists take extra precaution, especially on ramps, bridges, overpasses and when approaching intersections.

C-Tran route No. 3 through the city center is on its snow route due to ice.

Updates will be posted as they become available.
