Ireland, Loyola Marymount edge Santa Clara 84-80

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anthony Ireland scored 29 points and Loyola Marymount rallied from a 9-point halftime deficit for an 84-80 victory over Santa Clara on Thursday night.

Ireland also dished out eight assists for Loyola Marymount (8-8, 1-2 West Coast). Ashley Hamilton scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and Ayodeji Egbeyemi scored 13. Godwin Okonji grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots.

Evan Roquemore scored 21 points to lead Santa Clara (12-5, 1-2). Brandon Clark scored 17. Both men made 4 of 5 attempts from 3-point range.

Raymond Cowels III scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Kevin Foster scored 11 points, but was 3 of 15 from 3-point range. Foster had seven assists and four steals.
