Prairie View A&M defeats Grambling State 60-44

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) — Carl Blair scored 18 points and Josh Eleby added 12 points and seven rebounds to lead Prairie View A&M to a 60-44 victory against Grambling State on Saturday night.

The Panthers (6-11, 1-3 Southwestern Athletic), who ended a six-game losing streak, never trailed after Eleby’s jumper gave them an 8-7 lead 4:46 into the game.

Bryant Purvis had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers (0-14, 0-5), who have lost 24 of their last 25 games dating to last season.

Prairie View A&M led 44-36 when it went on an 11-1 run over the next 3:10 to take permanent control. Blair had nine points during the surge, which ended with his layup that gave the Panthers a 55-37 cushion with 4:06 remaining.
