HOUSTON (AP) — Aaron Clyborn had 18 points to lead five Texas Southern players scoring in double figures in an 84-57 victory against Jackson State on Saturday night.
Ray Penn and Omar Strong added 16 points each, Lawrence Johnson-Danner 11 and Fred Sturdivant 10 for Texas Southern (4-13, 3-1 Southwestern Athletic), who shot 52.5 percent (31 of 59) from the floor and hit 11 3-pointers.
Texas Southern never trailed after Johnson-Danner’s layup with 12:16 remaining in the first half gave it a 16-14 advantage.
Dundrecous Nelson had 18 points and Kelsey Howard 16 for Jackson State (1-13, 0-5).
Strong had 10 rebounds.
