“Kids Common Sense: Guide to a Better Life” by Melitta Jass Keller. Genre: self-help, CreateSpace, $4.99 print, $2.99 e-book, www.amazon.com. Guide to help improve kids’ thinking at an early age, creating common sense and good habits.

“Secret of the Songshell” by Brian Tashima. Genre: young adult sci-fi/fantasy, Amazon, $9.99 print, $4.99 e-book, www.amazon.com. Teenage guitarist with Asperger’s syndrome travels to an alternate world where his brain waves combine with sound waves from music to create magical effects.
