Brooks leads Davidson past The Citadel 70-38

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) — Da’Mon Brooks scored 15 points, and Davidson started the second half on a 13-1 run and cruised to an easy 70-38 victory over The Citadel in a Southern Conference game on Thursday night.

Jake Cohen scored 12 points — all in the first half — for the Wildcats (10-5, 5-1), and 11 players put points on the board.

Matt Van Scyoc led The Citadel (3-13, 0-6) with eight points, and Mike Groselle had seven points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs have lost 12 in a row. It was their lowest point total since a 79-37 loss to Richmond on Nov. 12, 2010.

Davidson scored 27 points off the Bulldogs’ 26 turnovers.

Leading 7-6 6:01 into the game, the Wildcats went on an 11-0 run culminated by Brooks’ dunk with 9:22 left for an 18-6 advantage. Davidson led 38-19 at halftime.

The Wildcats lost 70-57 loss at Georgia Southern on Monday.
