C-Tran sets open house meetings on bus routes

A pair of upcoming open house meetings will lay out proposed changes to two C-Tran bus routes.

The agency has proposed rerouting the No. 7 line in Battle Ground in response to increased traffic congestion and other factors. The new alignment would follow a one-way loop along Main Street, South Grace Avenue, Rasmussen Boulevard and South Parkway Avenue. It would still stop near the Battle Ground Community Center and Battle Ground Village, but wouldn’t make extra loops around those places as it does now.

On the No. 41 Camas/Washougal limited line, proposed changes would alter the schedule to better coordinate with other routes. It would also provide express service only between Fisher’s Landing Transit Center and downtown Vancouver, according to C-Tran.

The first open house meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver. A second open house will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. Both meetings will last 90 minutes, according to C-Tran.

If adopted, the proposed route changes would take effect in May. More information is available online at C-Tran.
