PORTLAND — A woman who spent four hours wedged between the walls of two buildings in downtown Portland has been released from the hospital, but how she got into such a predicament remains unknown.
The woman fell into the space 8 inches wide early Wednesday. Firefighters cut a hole through concrete and used an air bag and a soapy lubricant to free her.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she had been listed under the name Anita Mann. She was released late Wednesday.
Portland fire Lt. Rich Chatman says how the woman got trapped remains a mystery. He says she did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol.
Police are handling the investigation. Sgt. Pete Simpson says he doesn’t know if a detective has spoken with the woman.
