Boys basketball: La Center 68, Woodland 63

Wyatt Aguirre was true on six 3-pointers and scored 23 points, leading La Center to the road win in the Trico League.

La Center took a four-point lead going into the final quarter, then made 10 of 14 free throws down the stretch to secure that lead.

“This was a really good battle,” La Center coach Jon Schroeder said. “Woodland played well. We feel pretty fortunate, coming out on top.”

A.J. Myers added 12 points and seven rebounds for La Center. Connor Wonderly had 10 points, and Jeremiah Arn led the Wildcats with eight rebounds.

Tanner Huddleston made five of Woodland’s 11 3-pointers and finished with 22 points. Troy Flanagan also scored 22 for the Beavers.
