EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Ruben Cabrera scored 19 points to lead Texas Pan-American over Utah Valley 62-60 Saturday night.
Justin Leathers had 11 points and a team-high six rebounds. Aaron Urbanus also scored 11 points and had six assists for the Broncs (10-10, 2-0 Great West).
Texas Pan-American led 32-27 at halftime. Texas Pan-American shot 40.8 percent from the field for the game, while Utah Valley shot 39.6 percent. However, Utah Valley won the rebound battle with 38, while Texas Pan-American had 32.
Holton Hunsaker led Utah Valley State with 18 points. Ben Aird had 16 points and 14 rebounds. Antoine Hosely had 13 points, and Jason Johnson added 11 for the Wolverines (9-11, 1-2).
