Reddick, Furman rally to beat UNC Greensboro 69-61

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Colin Reddick posted his first double-double of the season as Furman rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to defeat UNC Greensboro 69-61 Sunday in Southern Conference action.

Reddick had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Paladins (5-12, 2-4), who trailed 34-22 with 18:45 remaining. An 11-0 run, with Bobby Austin hitting bookend 3-pointers, got Furman within a point, but the Spartans regained the momentum to lead 46-39 with 11:42 left.

Larry Wideman’s two jumpers then sparked a 15-0 Paladins run, capped by Austin’s trey with 6:52 to go.

After Derrell Armstrong’s jumper got UNC Greensboro within four, at 63-59 with 50 seconds left, the Paladins sealed it with 6 of 8 free throws.

Austin finished with 13 points, Wideman and Stephen Croone had 12 apiece and Charlie Reddick added 10. Kendrec Ferrara grabbed 12 rebounds.

Armstrong and Nicholas Paulos scored 16 points each for the Spartans (4-13, 2-4).
