Two people were taken to a hospital after a car and dump truck collided on state Highway 14 just before noon Monday.

The crash occurred about a half-mile east of Interstate 5, where Maria D. Elizondo, 41, of Vancouver was driving a 2010 Honda Fit eastbound next to a 1990 Kenworth dump truck.

Elizondo and her passenger Carlos Elizondo, 17, also of Vancouver, were both taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The driver of the dump truck, identified as Lawrence A. Tonn, 76, of Vancouver, was not injured. According to the Washington State Patrol, Tonn was cited for making an unsafe lane change.
