CHICAGO (AP) — Colorado forward Edson Buddle and San Jose defender Steven Beitashour have left the U.S. national team’s training camp in Carson, Calif., because of injuries.
The U.S. Soccer Federation said Tuesday that Buddle is experiencing problems in his right knee, which was injured in June, and will be examined by the Rapids’ medical staff. Beitashour has been slowed following surgery after last season to repair a sports hernia.
Twenty-three players remain in camp ahead of an exhibition game against Canada on Jan. 29 in Houston. Regulars will return from Europe for the World Cup qualifier at Honduras on Feb. 6, the first game of the final round for the Americans.
