EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Seth Hinrichs and Bryce Scott netted 16 points apiece as Lafayette defeated Holy Cross 63-53 Wednesday night in a Patriot League matchup to snap a two-game losing streak.

Tony Johnson added 15 points and went 6 of 6 from the stripe for Lafayette, which made 10 of 11 free throws.

Lafayette (9-12, 2-2) scored 12 of the game’s first 14 points but led by just three, 23-20, at intermission after Holy Cross’ Phil Beans hit a 3-pointer as time expired. Holy Cross (10-9, 2-2), however, would get no closer as Johnson opened the second half with a layup and Hinrichs hit back-to-back 3-pointers to push Lafayette’s lead to 31-20.

Dave Dudzinski knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 36-30 but the Leopards rattled off 11 straight points to take their largest lead of the game, 47-30.

Beans had 14 points for Holy Cross and Dudzinski added 13.
