Charleston Southern rolls past Presbyterian 79-59

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Saah Nimley had 26 points and nine rebounds, and Charleston Southern hit a season-high 15 of 30 from beyond the arc en route to a 79-59 victory against Presbyterian in a Big South Conference game Wednesday night, remaining unbeaten in Big South Conference play.

Jeremy Sexton had 18 points, Sheldon Strickland had 15, and Mathiang Muo added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Buccaneers (11-6, 6-0), who have won seven games in a row.

Khalid Mutakabbir scored 15 points to lead Presbyterian (4-16, 1-5), Eric Washington had 11 and Jordan Downing 10. Presbyterian has lost five of its past six games.

Charleston Southern’s Paul Gombwer made a layup to tie the game at 6-all, and the Buccaneers went on a 13-2 run capped by Jeremy Sexton’s 3-pointer for a 19-8 lead. The Buccaneers held a 36-22 halftime advantage and cruised to the victory.
