Boys basketball: Mark Morris 56, Ridgefield 42

The host Monarchs took command in the third quarter to pull away for the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League win.

Ridgefield (7-11, 1-5) started well and led 13-10 at the end of one quarter. Mark Morris (13-5, 5-1) led by five at halftime, then outscored the Spudders by 10 in the third quarter.

Ridgefield had some foul trouble — Mark Morris attempted 17 more free throws in the game — and played the second half without A.J. Olson because of injury.
