LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Freshman Shane Richards missed just one shot en route to 19 points and Rhamel Brown posted a double-double in Manhattan’s 62-51 win over Rider on Sunday in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play to snap a three-game skid.
Brown finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Richards was 7 of 8 from the field, 4 of 5 from 3-point range and made his only free throw for Manhattan, which led 29-26 at halftime and shot 55 percent (11 of 20) in the second half to pull away.
Jonathon Thompson scored 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting for Rider (11-11, 6-4) but the rest of the team shot a combined 12 of 31. The Broncs also converted just 6 of 22 3-point attempts.
Manhattan (6-14, 4-6) registered a 33-21 rebounding advantage, outscored Rider 24-14 in the paint and got 37 points off the bench.
