Saddler, Delaware defeat William & Mary 66-56

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Devon Saddler scored in double figures for the 27th consecutive game dating back to last season as Delaware downed William & Mary 66-56 Wednesday night in Colonial Athletic Association action.

The junior hit 8 of 16 from the field while notching 19 points for the Blue Hens (10-11, 5-3), who snapped a two-game home losing streak. Kyle Anderson added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and nine rebounds while Jamelle Hagins scored 12.

Marcus Thornton scored 22 points while hitting 8 of 15 from the floor and 4 of 8 from 3-point range for the Tribe (8-12, 2-7). Tim Rusthoven entered averaging 19.5 points and 9.3 rebounds over his past four games, but managed just 13 points and four boards Wednesday on 6-of-13 shooting.

The Blue Hens held a 43-31 rebounding advantage and shot 45 percent (27 of 60).

The win was Delaware’s fourth straight in the series.
