Greene lifts CS Northridge past CS Fullerton 92-86

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Josh Greene had 24 points and 10 rebounds as Cal State Northridge defeated Cal State Fullerton 92-86 Thursday night in Bobby Braswell’s 500th game as coach of the Matadors.

Northridge (10-11, 1-8(asterisk) Big West) led by 13 points with about four minutes to go, and held on by making 10 of 12 free throws in the final minute.

Tre Hale-Edmerson added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Matadors; Stephen Maxwell had 16 points and 11 rebounds; and Lonnie Watson and Brandon Perry scored 11 points apiece. Leading scorer Stephan Hicks, who was injured in Saturday’s loss to Cal Poly, did not play.

Fullerton (11-10, 4-5) got 28 points and eight assists from Kwame Vaughn, 22 points from D.J. Seeley and 21 from Sammy Yeager.

Braswell is 248-252 in his 17-year tenure at Northridge, with two trips to the NCAA tournament (2001, 2008).
