TROUTDALE — Troutdale police say searchers have been unable to find a 7-year-old boy lost in the Sandy River.

The boy and his 9-year-old brother were pulled into the current Sunday while playing in the water at Glen Otto Park. Life guards saved the 9-year-old as the 7-year-old disappeared.

Divers from Portland and Multnomah County along with search and rescue volunteers and a National Guard helicopter have spent hours looking for the boy.

Police say the intensive search is over, but officers will continue to look along the river banks.
