A couch was blamed for a two-car collision on southbound Interstate 5 near the Gee Creek Rest Area just after noon Monday.

The couch had apparently fallen off a vehicle and was left on the roadway, Washington State Patrol Trooper Steve Schatzel said. One vehicle swerved out of the way, striking another vehicle, about 12:15 p.m.

No injuries were reported and the crash resulted in only minor damage.

Someone had just called 911 to report the couch in the roadway, and police were en route when the crash occurred.
