State trims regional economists; Bailey stays

The state Employment Security Department has reduced its regional economist positions by half, leaving six regional economists instead of 12.

Scott Bailey, the regional economist for Southwest Washington, will remain in his position. Bailey’s area of responsibility has been expanded to include Klickitat and Skamania counties in addition to Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum.
