KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Camilo Sanvezzo scored on a free kick just before halftime and the Vancouver Whitecaps played to a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night.

The Whitecaps (7-5-5) snapped a three-match winning streak broken while extending their unbeaten stretch to four.

Aurelien Collin scored in the 35th minute on a putback of his own blocked shot for Sporting (7-5-6), which is unbeaten in its last three but has won just once in the last seven matches.

Sanvezzo tied it in the 45th as he put his dipping shot in the upper right corner for his team-leading 10th goal of the season.

Sporting had a chance to go ahead in the 76th, but Graham Zusi’s low shot smacked off the left post after beating goalkeeper Brad Knighton.
