Cooler temperatures helped firefighters get a hold a wildfire that burned through 150 acres five miles west of the Klickitat community of Lyle. The blaze was 90 percent contained Thursday.

A smaller crew will remain with the fire over the weekend to complete the mop-up and pull in water lines.

The fire was reported Wednesday and took 116 fire personnel. The fire’s spread was checked before it could cross Major Creek and threaten homes and agricultural land on the creek’s eastern side.
