Capitals sign 3 players to 1-year deals

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Tyson Strachan, right wing Matt Watkins and goaltender David Leggio to one-year, two-way contracts.

The 28-year-old Strachan played in 38 games with the Florida Panthers last season. He had four assists and 40 penalty minutes.

Strachan has played in 120 NHL games over five seasons with the Panthers and St. Louis Blues.

The 26-year-old Watkins played with Bridgeport of the AHL last season. The 28-year-old Leggio was with Rochester of the AHL.
