INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Alpine Luck has won the $150,000 Hollywood Juvenile Championship by a half-length at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Ridden by 50-year-old Hall of Famer Gary Stevens, Alpine Luck ran 6 furlongs on the synthetic Cushion Track in 1:11.44 and paid $11.60, $5.80 and $3.80 for trainer Mike Harrington.

It was Stevens’ fifth career win in the Juvenile and his first since 1997.

Ontology emerged from a three-horse photo finish to take second and returned $4.60 and $2.80. Ontology also finished second to Alpine Luck in their racing debuts on June 22.

Willie B Awesome was another nose back in third and paid $2.40 to show.

A stewards’ inquiry involving Willie B Awesome and fourth-place finisher Solid Wager resulted in no change to the order of finish.
