TORONTO (AP) — Call me maybe — just not to throw out a first pitch.

Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen had a good laugh at herself after she spiked the ceremonial first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game on Sunday.

Jepsen, best known for the catchy Top-40 hit “Call Me Maybe,” posted a text-message conversation between her and her brother on Twitter that had the hash tag “sticktoyourdayjob.”

She also posted: “So apparently I made ESPN with my fail of a pitch. Lol- Daddy must be so proud.”

The right-handed Jepsen set up from the rubber, with a catcher 18 feet away. Her pitch barely cleared the mound (http://bit.ly/15wzkrs ). When she realized where the ball went, she covered her face, laughed, and raised her hands in mock pride.
