CINCINNATI (AP) — First-round draft pick Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame has signed a four-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals announced the deal Monday. Eifert will get about $8.25 million overall, with a $4.3 million signing bonus. His cap number will be about $1.5 million.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Eifert won the John Mackey Award winner as the nation’s top tight end in 2012. He was the career leader among Fighting Irish tight ends with 140 receptions. He’s expected to team with veteran Jermaine Gresham to give the Bengals a strong double-tight end passing attack.
