LOS ANGELES (AP) — Forward Wanaah Bail is expected to miss four months as he recovers from knee surgery, although the freshman’s eligibility with UCLA for the upcoming basketball season is unknown.
The school said Tuesday that Bail had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee on June 28.
The 6-foot-9 forward from Houston signed a financial aid agreement in June declaring his intent to attend UCLA. He had been attending summer classes while working with new Bruins coach Steve Alford to prepare for the season.
UCLA says it continues to work through the process to determine Bail’s eligibility for the season. He graduated from high school in 2012.
