BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Top-seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia advanced to the Claro Open Colombia quarterfinals Thursday night, beating Belgium’s Ruben Bemelmans 6-4, 7-5.
Tipsarevic will face the winner of the last match between Australia’s Matthew Ebden and Colombia’s Alejandro Falla.
In the afternoon session, Italy’s Matteo Viola beat fourth-seeded Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 6-3, 7-5 to set up a match against Vasek Pospisil of Canada. Pospisil beat Australia’s James Duckworth 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
